Screening
Bowel Screening
In Scotland, if you are between 50 and 74, you will be invited for bowel screening every 2 years and you will receive your first DIY screening kit to use at home when you turn 50.
These kits are quick and simple to use and can spot what can be Pre-cancerous Polyps or microscopic blood; if detected early,90% of people will survive.
Currently only 55% of eligible people complete the test, so we would like to support you through the process of screening. We therefore invite you to come along to see our Healthcare Assistant who will be happy to help you with any queries or concerns you may have, she will also have some dummy kits for you to look at.
Cervical Screening
Cervical screening is routinely offered to women in Scotland between the ages of 25 and 64 years old every 5 years. You will receive a centrally generated reminder letter when your cervical smear is due. Please call and make an appointment with Briony, please tell the Receptionist what the appointment is for so they can make it the appropriate length of time.
