We are pleased to share that we are developing a new role within our Practice team, currently being referred to as our Wellbeing Healthcare Assistant (HCA) role, although the final title is still to be confirmed.
As part of this development, one of our reception team members is undertaking training to expand her skills and support patients in new ways. This role is being designed to help strengthen the support available to patients and improve access to wellbeing and health-related services within the practice.
As part of her training, she will occasionally sit in with GPs during consultations to observe communication and consultation skills. This is an important part of her learning and development programme.
Your privacy remains our priority. If a she is observing during your appointment, your consent will always be sought beforehand. If you would prefer not to have an observer present, simply let the clinician know. Your decision will be respected, and it will not affect your care in any way.
